Background
Darwinia was the first leatherback turtle of this season to be fitted with a satellite transmitter, which will enable us to follow her movements through the breeding and nesting season. Darwinia was encountered in Pongara National Park, near Libreville, Gabon's capital city, with the assistance of Turtle Technicians from Aventures Sans Frontieres, an NGO working towards the protection of species and habitats in Gabon.
