To start with the turtle appeared to be remaining close to her release point at Colola, Michoacan; with data suggesting she nested twice more. The cluster of points merely gives an approxinmate indication of her locale as it appears that the digital coastline is slightly erroneous with locations centered on a spot a few km inland. Between nests she is likely to be spending most of her time resting on the bottom conserving her energy and producing the next clutch of eggs. Once she returns to lay an additional clutch or begins on her post-nesting migration we would expect the number and quality of locations to increase dramatically (text last updated 6th January, maps updated daily)
