Yakinthi is tracked now for far over one year. However, the batteries of her transmitter seem to get weak, since her transmitter doesn't transmit a good signal very often. It was still enough to witness that she went back to the same location in spring after having spent the winter somewhere further south. Then she again left her foraging area off Tunis to spend the cold season further south, however not in the same location when she spent her first tracked winter. Instead, she seems to have travelled slowly eastwards along the north African shore and crossed over to the area of Zakynthos. She thus is one of only a very few turtles for whom an entire period between two nesting seasons has been tracked!

Background
Yakinthi was untagged when we encountered her. Scars from follen-out tags on her flippers indicate however that this year is not her first year nesting.
