Background

Majestic is an adult female blue shark, measuring 2,19 metres. With the aim of generating knowledge about her movements and habitat use, she was equipped with a satellite transmitter (Wildlife Computers SPLASH) by a scientific observer onboard a Uruguayan fishing boat. Majestic was captured in international waters of the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean on January 31st, at 03:43hs local time, and a few minutes later she was released back to the ocean!
