A project of Marine Turtle Research Group.

After tagging, Iman headed diretly north and spent the rest of her tracking period in the shallow coastal waters north of Masirah. She was the only turtle to do this and was the smallest and most algae covered turtle... We wonder if maybe there is a link!

Background

Iman was spotted about a kilometer north of Zena and was immediately boxed and simultaneously tagged. Iman is the smallest of the turtless we tagged and her shell was covered with green algae not seen on the other turtles... maybe this is because she lives somewhere else to the other 8 turtles. Let's see. She is named after a sweet daughter of our dear friend and colleague Musallam Al-Madhoushi, a native Masirian and great friend of the turtles.
