Background
Emma last visited Keewaydin Island in July 2007. She was observed on the beach three times that year but two of these resulted in false crawls, so there is only information on one of her nests. The sequence of both of her false crawsls suggest that she probably nested a couple of days after those events. She was either not observed or nested on a different beach. Her single nest was very successful. Of the 151 eggs, 138 hatched. All of those hatchlings made into the Gulf – we are happy to see Emma has returned for the 2010 season and hope she will continue to lay large, healthy clutches. This season she was seen nesting three times. She was also seen during a false crawl the timing of which indicated that she probably laid a fourth nest this year. It was during this false crawl that she received her satellite tag.
